Quote Rehn: "You really want to take a screenshot for that?"

When ripping spines, learn from the best! Fun fact. We tried to do him on PTR Hard Mode. His Bone Storm TICKED for 16k. Not seeing that was a nice surprise. Maybe in "Nightmare Mode" or something...

After a night of very strong attempts (most lasting well into the last phase), we killed the Lich King! Server First! And what a way to do it. For the first time ever, we streamed our raid LIVE, to Lothar. 38 spectators were gracious enough to watch us defeat the final normal mode boss of Wrath of the Lich King! Although its a normal mode, and cool in itself, it's chief purpose is to open Hard Modes up to us next week! And what a way to do it. Tyranny performing live on the Lich King ranks up there with killing Kil'Jaeden pre-nerf and our Server First Yogg+0. It is something we want to do again for sure. Now... bring forth hard modes! Sometimes the funniest things are staring you in the face. Highlight below for a hint to the "punchline". Look to the left of the rogue 'Vlaid' in the upper left.

Team Tyranny staked Team Edward. World 13th kill! Oh and we got a pretty slick achievement too!

Tonight Drug Enforcement Administration officers staged a raid on Northrend's largest known meth lab. This was a US Top 60 kill. Nearly 2.2 Tons of Crystal Meth were recovered and with a little help, Professor Putricide brought to justice. Remember kids...

So after many, many weeks of heartbreak, we finally sealed the deal with Anub'arak. Going back months we'd one shot it here, but commit a foul somewhere else. We must have had 49 attempts continuously since before thanksgiving. But we finally got it done, and in what style. We are now officially Super Heroes of the Grand Crusade! Some fun statistics about this particular kill: -Our kill was 24 seconds faster than our previous best, and 70 seconds faster than the previous week (which we also one shot). This was a 7:11 second kill. -Our strat is designed around a set number of waves of adds before P3 (5) and two burrows. We had to call stop DPS with 24 seconds remaining so as not to push him into P3 before the second burrow (we would have loved to do it, but we're not going to deviate from the strat on a whim like that). -Our Phase 3 was 110 seconds long. This is in the top 1% of all Anub heroic kills. It was 73 seconds faster than the previous week. We killed two waves of adds and burrowed the third, but in retrospect, we probably could have just burrowed the second and killed him. -Braest, Wolfbane, Foker, Warschild and Eref all did near world record P3 damage So that brings Trial of the Grand Crusader to a close... thank fucking god. We can now focus on ICC25 and get out of that rat hole. And what a way to get out! The below image summarizes our approach to Anub in our kill, and Tier 9 content as a whole. Bring on ICC25 Hard Modes!

So no updates for a while because there had just been PTR which we did lots of, and the first four bosses of ICC25 that two kids and a dog could kill. For 4 weeks we ran 2 ICC25s with 17 mains and 8 alts. It worked really, really well. But now the new wing came out and we had content to clear there, so we main grouped it! The result, TWO World Top 20 Kills. First up was Festergut. We killed that about 51 seconds ahead of the enrage timer. Great job folks! Here's our complete strat. It's pretty funny seeing bad guilds go on and on how the fight needs another minute or two. Screw that. After Festergut we 2 shot (almost one shot!) Rotface. I would like to thank Blizzard for making a fight completely designed around sticking a raid's collective head up a giant abom's ass. It made the front page very easy to make. We found all sorts of cool stuff up there: Trauma, a rogue tagger, a tire, a few kittens...

Quick like the wind and with a lot of heart, we put the VoA chumps in the dirt. Very fun. Great job everyone! US #30! We also found out Rehn is an evil Mr. Rogers twin.

Mad Skill with 48 attempts remaining. It was a 7:56 second kill, so a guild best and 1 second faster than last week (I think our P3 was vastly faster though... our second P1 tank phase seemed a bit slow). Again, this was 39 seconds faster than the World of Logs median. If we did the first four like we did last week, woulda been Insanity, but c'est la vie. Great work everyone! Moshii is the bringer of freshness!

So what's Tyranny up to? PTR and ToGC. First, Wednesday night we killed Anub in 7:57 (477 seconds). This is 38 seconds faster than the World of Logs median of 515 seconds and places us within the top 9th percentile of all logged Anub kills. Quite an accomplishment, everyone! Secondly, we've killed two PTR bosses, and were a few percent away from killing three others as they took down the instance. Many members of Tyranny are saying that Icecrown looks to be Blizzard's best instance yet. Marrowgar was a bit of a let down (he should have hit a lot harder and not been one shottable), but everything else has been amazing thus far. =====UPDATED 11/18===== Another reason to join Tyranny? We got sexy sisters for you! That's the 3rd the guild has made (2nd completely on our own), and 3rd in use presently in guild. Grat's Disn!

For the first time ever, our complete strat to a fight, for all to see... Certainly the best fight in this instance, and a surprisingly fun and complex one. A real pleasure to learn. Special Recognition: Rehn for tanking strat and working hard on the gear, and doing 90 things at once. Kimah for interrupt strat and showing DKs can do a fight that you "must have a druid" for. Cartoonhero for the amazing and pivitol Phase 2 strat. (Peace dude) Lithid, Exxe, Dephness, Moshii, Beholder and Zergg for being especially pro at your jobs. Foker, Vlaid and Zoranisha for add-strat. Lithid for top DPS on Anub'arak in Phase 3. Fluxxions for a lot of healing footwork and figuring out of P3. Isomalt for top DPS on burrowers in Phase 3 and the interrupt strategy. All the healers for knowing how to thread the needle in a way few healers can. Some fun facts: - We did it in 86 attempts since we killed Yogg+0 (when we got serious about the fight). Most guilds did it in 130+ - Anub'arak healed for 8.7 million. Most parses for other guilds had him heal 10-12 million in P3. - We killed Anub after 9 waves of adds. Most guilds see 11-12. - We only lost 3 people on the kill attempt, all in the last 10%. This fight defined collective accomplishment. Everyone contributed. Litteraly every member of the guild saw extensive time in raid on this fight. We made hundreds of micro-adjustments and minimaxed the hell out of the raid. We never really had any wasteful attempts. That's why it took us about a week and a half to do. We had barely done the fight before we killed Yogg+0 - we chose to focus on that hurdle first. Now, within a short period, we've beaten the two hardest fights in the game. And thanks to Kimah also for making the front page way better >.<. I should retire from making frontpages.

On October 4th, after many hours of work, we killed Yogg with No Keepers, thus completing every encounter on Ulduar and defeating what is widely considered the most demanding Bossfight in Wrath of the Lich King It nearly drove us to eating each other. Grats to Zergg on his [wowitem]Mimiron's Head[/wowitem] mount! What's the suckiest part of Death's Demise? That after weeks of working on it, only the 25 people in the raid got the title. In fact, the entire guild deserves it. Everyone was in for a long period of time. Everyone played a part, gave an idea, and researched it. We wanted it so badly, we even said "fuck Anub" while we focused on it. It was the right choice then, and the right choice now (400k left on Anub Thursday... sighhh). My only wish, is that everyone who participated could have benefited from our hard fought and well earned victory. We said from the get go it would just take that one attempt where the stars aligned an we went deep, and sure enough we got it. We persevered through heartbreaking 2%, 3% and 4% wipes. And honestly, it was worth it. Every near miss made our strat a little tighter and a little more controlled. In that way, it confirmed something we long suspected about this guild - that we succeed best when we control the fight. In that way, this fight made us a better, smarter guild. If I could describe Death's Demise in one way, I would say it is "success by a thousand tweaks". Every step of the way we tweaked this fight to perfection. From DPS make-up to DPS allocation to healing make-up to number of healers. The results were so finely tuned the night we got it we could safely say that we had mini-max'd the raid from a composition and strategy standpoint, that there is nothing more we could do but simply execute. And sure enough we did that. Best fight of the goddamn ex-pac, and easily the most rewarding kill we've had since Sunwell. Congratulations to the members of Tyranny. We truly earned and bled for this.

Yes, the rumors (spread by a Server First! message) are true! We got Death's Demise (Yogg-Saron with zero keepers helping) last night and with it have successfully defeated every encounter in Ulduar. More on this soon. This is just a placeholder until the guild gets done with frontpage ideas. Grats to Zergg on the mount.

10 man = more fun 25 man = more hectic

I feel pretty ridiculous bumping down Twin Valks 25 Heroic or Herald of the Titans Algalon, but a kill is a kill! So we did Onyxia 2.0, complete with new fancy Felmyst-easy-mode breath. We actually would have wiped if Onxyia didn't exit phase 2 by death due to blunt force trauma (from a Delorien that hit her in the head). In order to complete the trip down memory lane, the "lets take a picture and loot" moment was made to look exactly the same, courtesy of Zoranisha. But hey, at least Rehn finally got a new tanking weapon (Quel'Serrar, el oh el).

Tonight an assembled group of brave explorers, while not a fantastic foursome, certainly a tenacious ten, defended Azeroth from the Devourer of Worlds in gear ranging from ilevel 170 to 232. It was a blast and only took about 30 minutes after working on it for another whole night on top of it Server First. And unlike some guilds, we don't out gear our server firsts. Only downside is that everything except Reply Code Alpha went offspec =(.

Hard Mode Valk Twins... a fight completely designed around letting black balls and white balls hit people, ball catching, twins, blacks versus whites, protecting whitey, taking balls in the face... this was seriously the hardest frontpage to ever make. The fight seriously wrote itself. Then we celebrated at the after-party! Well done everyone, with special thanks to Rehn, Zergg and Cartoonhero for being the parents of the final strat. Anub is next with 19 attempts left, but first, a detour....
-
We killed Faction Champions (25 man Heroic) with only 1 death, which is a lot better than most videos and WWF paper-views we saw. Note to Blizzard: if you want to make this really fun, add tables, ladders, chairs and a Spanish Announcers booth. 3 DK's chain using Irish Whip death grip was really fun. 29 Attempts left, and "only" Twin Valks and Anub before us! Not-so-shortly after, we broke into 10 Man Hard Mode groups and killed Anub with help from Johnny Rico! Well done guys! Horde First/Server second "A Tribute to Skill" (I think). Tanks: Cartoon, Dephness Healers: Zergg, Valendas, Eahi DPS: Pizzo, Exxecution, Kevoh, Vethe, Morseiv

Shortly after Northend Beasts were, uh.... dealt with... we stuck a fork in Demon Boss #231. Cool yes, but Kil'Jadaen, he ain't. But I do just want to thank Blizzard for a fight that revolves 100% around how good your DPS is at assist training. Oh yeah the picture... well the picture... why is our buddy Algalon there? You see, shortly after we killed content that we under or on par-geared for, the competition killed old stuff from June. If you were to read the Lothar forums, we're massively butt-hurting or something. But this is not so! We at Tyranny are good sportsmen and praise our competitors's achievements. So to commemorate this momentous occasion for the third ranked guild on Lothar/US, we've proudly present the following certificate.

Brutallus-level healing, with Felmyst-level movement. Good times. Thanks for fixing the swing timer before the boss was out for 7 months this time, Blizz.

So before ToC came out, we got around to doing 10 man Algalon and Yogg+0 finally. It was two seperate groups who did it. Yogg+0 was server first and we remain the only guild able to do it. Grats to Rehn on the Tentacle trinket. He has both by the way - the one from Yogg and the one from C'thun. Blizzard, I know you're going to base the Cataclysm story around this, but please...PLEASE... drop the Titan story line. Algalon and Yogg were cool and all, but its a terrible Tolkein rip that basically no one cares about.
